That does not mean that everything will always be ok just by being positive. That type of thinking is Toxic Positivity.and is more harmful than helpful. The value of positive thinking is that it keeps you from some of our self limiting behavior brought on by negative thinking.

As Zig Ziglar says, “Positive thinking won’t allow you to do anything, but it will allow you to do everything better than negative thinking will.”

And, yes doing all you can to reduce stress will help not only with mental health, but your physical well being too. Fight to protect your peace and only allow people into your headspace who uplift you.

Unfortunately, some of the people who cause you stress are family members. It is difficult to be around them and still maintain your emotional well being. Here are some thoughts to help you to handle family members who can be toxic at times.

One of the best things that I have learned to help reduce the stress is to realize that all we can do is all we can do. If I have done my best, then I have learned to be at peace and am willing to accept that sometimes my best isn’t good enough.
