Born Walter Elias “Walt” Disney, (on 5 December 1901, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S., and died of lung cancer on December 15, 1966, Los Angeles, California), and was an innovative American visionary, cartoonist, entrepreneur, American motion-picture and television producer, and showman, famous as a pioneer of animated cartoon films, the creator of cartoon characters as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

He developed his develop his curiosity for arts in 1906 when Disney was four, the family moved to a farm, in Missouri. There Disney developed his interest in drawing when he was paid to draw the horse of a retired neighborhood doctor. his father, Elias, was a subscriber to the Appeal to Reason newspaper, and he practiced drawing by copying the front-page cartoons with watercolors and crayons.
In 1918, Walt joined the Red Cross and went overseas, he spent a year driving an ambulance and driving Red Cross officials. His ambulance was covered with his drawings and cartoons.
After the war, he returned to Kansas City, when he started his career as an advertising cartoonist. In 1920, he created and marketed his first original animated cartoons, and later perfected a new method for combining live-action and animation.
Fall of 1923, at 21 years old he left Kansas City for Hollywood with a couple of drawing materials, and $40 in his pocket to meet his brother Roy in California.
On October 16, 1923, Walt Disney and his brother Roy found the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in Hollywood, California. Which became one of the best-known motion-picture production companies in the world.
Walt revealed to his wife a new character called “Mortimer Mouse”. It was Lillian’s idea to rename the character “Mickey Mouse“.
He also envisioned, planned, and created the amusement parks, Disneyland in Southern California in the early 1950s, and Disney World in Orlando, Florida in 1971, that was in the middle of being constructed during the time of his death and opened to the public in 1971.
