Many of us have been unintentionally conditioned while growing up with a crippling fear of failure. No matter how much talent we have, we are all going to fail at something at some point.
One key to how happy and successful we will be is how we teach ourselves to react to and overcome those failures.

- It is difficult to admit that we are responsible for our own failures. And, there may well be reasons outside of our own control that were in part responsible for the failure. The best way to move past it is for us to take responsibility for how we respond and our future actions toward the success we are looking for.
- To make the most positive that you can out of a failure, take the time to discover lessons you can glean that will help to avoid the same thing happening again.
- Believe that failure is an event that happened, it doesn’t define you as a person. You are not a failure, just because you have experienced a failure.
- Never blame others for the failure. Accept your responsibility in what went wrong.
- People who are able to fail forward see the failure and the situation that the failure produces as temporary. They believe that they will move past it.
Here is a stategy to implement to help you move on from failure.
What have you deemed to be the main cause of disappointment and failure in your life? List all the heartaches, difficulties, challenges, and issues that are associated with that factor after giving it some thought.
Now, take each item in turn and determine whether it is a reality that you must accept and then overcome, or if it is something that calls for proactive action. Write “fact” next to any reality-based facts and resolve to be optimistic in the face of hardship.
In the box to the right of any item that requires action, write down what you should do to bring about good change in your life. then promise to do it with joy.
